Microsoft Visual Round Trip Analyzer

If you are a web developer, and haven’t heard of VRTA yet, you should try downloading it from here. It is free and it depends on Microsoft Network Monitor. To have the real knowledge about this VRTA, read the following article - 12 Steps To Faster Web Pages With Visual Round Trip Analyzer.

Using this tool is a fairly simple task. Start VRTA.

Select your network.  Since I am using a Laptop, I chose Wireless…

Click the green play button image . This will start Network Monitor.
Do only one atomic transaction (known as a Task) at a time. Navigate to one page and let it render—that's one transaction. Stop VRTA to view it. Before clicking on the Next button, start VRTA again and repeat after it renders.

I just did it on one of my posts. See how the blue bar above is shouting out! Now, I don’t want to say that remove all the images that are big. All I am suggesting at this point is evaluate your web site and see if there are any areas you can tweak up. Just hover your mouse on anything that looks interesting to you… In this case it was a snapshot that could have been a bit smaller.

This tool can also show statistics, files and real good analysis of what you should concentrate on.

Give it a try. You won’t regret it Nerd
Oh by the way, this post is already heavy due to screenshots and I know I can do something about it (but lazy guys like me don’t take actions)!

Cheers,
Rahul
